17th Annual Chesterfield Icebreaker

When: March 6 - 7, 2010 in Richmond, Va. Registration will be held at the Holiday Inn Select Koger South Conference Center. Registration will run from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Check-in is mandatory in order to finalize rosters and handle other administrative duties.
Eligibility: The Chesterfield Icebreaker Tournament is dually sanctioned by both USYSA/VYSA and with US Club Soccer. This is a USYSA/VYSA sanctioned tournament for club and tournament teams. Teams must be affiliated with USYSA, USSF, FIFA or US Club Soccer; in good standing with their state association; and players must possess 2009-2010 player passes. Teams affiliated with AYSO, SAY or Super Y League are also welcome. National, state or league select teams are not eligible. A maximum of seven USYSA or US Club Soccer carded guest players are allowed. Teams will be evaluated on their individual team records.
Rules: A minimum of three games are guaranteed (see Acceptance). All games will be played in accordance with FIFA laws, except as modified by tournament rules. Tournament rules are posted on the website and can be downloaded to print.
Age groups:
Referees: A USSF three-man referee system will be used to the maximum extent possible for all matches with emphasis on divisions U-12 and older. USSF registered referees who are in good standing and who wish to referee are encouraged to contact our referee assignor, David Hichak, who can be reached at dphickak@aol.com.
Awards: Each player on the Championship and Runner-up teams will receive a custom tournament medallion. A team trophy will be presented to the Championship and Runner-up teams.
Medical Releases: In compliance with the USYSA Youth Soccer Tournament/Games hosting agreement, it is mandatory to collect a 2009/2010 medical authorizations for each player at registration at registration and retained at the field by the team. No player may play without a valid medical release under penalty of forfeiture of the games played. These medical release forms do not need to be notarized.
Entry Fees
Credit Card Payments: All credit card entries will be charged upon entry and refunded immediately upon non-acceptance. No certificate of entry needs to be mailed to the Chesterfield United Football Club. Email confirmation of entry will follow completed applications.
Check or Money Order Payments: All check and money order entries must be postmarked by Jan. 28, 2010, and should be made payable to the Chesterfield United Football Club. All entries received through check or money order are deposited immediately and refunded within two weeks of non-acceptance. Teams must include with your entry fee your "certificate of entry" or a copy of the email confirmation. Payments and Entry Fees should be mailed to:

Hotel Information:To ensure the quality of service provided at the 2010 Icebreaker Tournament, the Chesterfield United FC has appointed Outer Zone Sports as the official hospitality service of the tournament. All teams are mandated to book any hotel reservations through Outer Zone Sports to insure their place in the 2009 Icebreaker Tournament. Any teams that do not comply will be a risk of forfeiting their acceptance.
By using Outer Zone Sports and our booking service, the Chesterfield United FC and the Icebreaker Tournament can offer our "Act of God" Clause. This states that, "Should this event be cancelled for reasons beyond the tournament director's control (including weather) all outstanding reservations will be released at no charge to the participants."
